🚨 iOS 26 Is Coming—and It’s Not What You Expected!
New features, a total redesign, and one major surprise Apple didn’t tell you about—here’s everything your iPhone’s about to gain (or lose).
iOS 26: What's New and When It's Coming
Apple is preparing to launch iOS 26, the next big update for iPhones. Here's what you need to know:
New Name, New Look
Instead of calling it iOS 19, Apple is skipping ahead to iOS 26 to match the year 2026.
The update brings a major redesign, making the iPhone's interface look more like Apple's visionOS.
Expect updated icons, menus, and system buttons for a fresh, modern feel.
Cool New Features
Apple Music will show full-screen animated album art on the lock screen.
The Notes app will support Markdown, making it easier to format text.
Messages will get automatic translation for chats in different languages and the ability to create polls in group chats.
A new virtual calligraphy pen will be available for Apple Pencil users.
Release Timeline
iOS 26 will be announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) starting June 9, 2025.
A public beta version is expected in July, with the official release likely in September.
Device Compatibility
There's some uncertainty about which iPhones will support iOS 26.
Some reports suggest that iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max may not be compatible due to their older hardware.
Newer iPhones, like the iPhone 11 and up, should be able to run iOS 26.
Delays and Missing Features
Some features initially planned for iOS 18 have been delayed and will be introduced during the iOS 26 cycle.
However, even some of these features might not be ready at launch and could roll out in later updates like iOS 26.1 or 26.2.
